If I didn’t start with Acuity I probably wouldn’t have used it in the end, but since I did start with it, it is what I use. First I didn’t have to pay for it so that was a perk, second it is what I learned on and I tend to stick with the familiar, and then there is the fact that it isn’t a bad program. You can learn as you go with Acuity though, and that is not the same with all programs because I tried switching at one point but gave up because the other program just ran without me even being able to keep up with what was going on. There was no learning part to the program at all.
I can appreciate the point and click scanning capability that comes with acuity workstation, and the buy/sell pressure indicator is quite compelling, but I must say that it is otherwise is an underwhelming program. There really is nothing else to separate it from its competitors. On top of all that there is very little information available about pricing and support systems which is distressing, to say the least. I think if I’m going to sink my money into one of these it will probably be one that at least offers basic help and tutorials, if not a live virtual assistant.
